They partner commercially with smallholder producers to alleviate poverty in Haiti by building stronger businesses. The partnership model is holistic, and the collective goal is to nurture economic autonomy. The staff provides management, financial resources, record keeping and agronomic support to several farmer-owned networks in Haiti. They aggregate coffee and cacao from over 40 cooperatives that represent over 10,000 smallholder farmers.
Singing Rooster is a social enterprise non-profit established in 2009 and a member of the Fair Trade Federation but they are more than Fair Trade.
They exceed fair trade prices for crops and return 100% of proceeds from sales back to farmer communities in the form of agricultural, small business management, and entrepreneurial development activities.
